#GivingTuesdayCA - Help Support Youth Employment

Each year Community Living Kincardine and District (CLKD) participates in Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. This year, we have put an emphasis on supporting youth to: learn about themselves and the world of work, build their resume, skills, abilities, and help to prepare them for employment now, and as an adult.

On November 29th, CLKD will be raising funds for our Youth employment supports. These supports include workshops to guide Youth through discovery of themselves and the world of work, to provide “job tastings” and volunteer opportunities, and to support participants to develop a resume and to achieve competitive employment. Youth employment support includes job coaching for Youth during their first weeks to months of work. Our goal is to ensure all youth have the opportunity for successful competitive employment.

Employment not only helps a person to support themselves financially, but increases social interactions, connections with their community, a sense of belonging, and a contribution to a healthy local economy.

As these supports are non-funded, CLKD is participating in Giving Tuesday on November 29th to help raise funds to deliver these important supports. Encouraging Youth to think about, and prepare for employment now, will help to ensure more Youth and Adults with a developmental disability find success in achieving, and maintaining, competitive employment.

This Giving Tuesday, DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT!

Thanks to our generous sponsors Matthew Moore of RBC Wealth Management | RBC Dominion Securities and Jennifer Cook of Jennifer Cook & Associates Inc. | Co-operators, every donation made on November 29th will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 by each donation matching sponsor.
