WHAT IS GIVING TUESDAY?
GivingTuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday; the “Opening day of the giving season. It’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes.” – givingtuesday.ca
Community Living Kincardine and District (CLKD) will be taking part in this one day, online giving campaign again this year with funds raised being directed to support the CLKD Infant, Child and Youth Services.
HOW ARE THE FUNDS BEING USED?
The Infant & Child Development program provides support for families parenting a baby or toddler who is at risk for a delay or who has a delay or disability. Families receive resources related to their child’s specific needs and are supported to develop links to community services. Facilitated baby and me music and art groups, Jumping Jellybeans, PA Day Kindergym, information sessions with local experts and in-home visits to help develop a strong foundation of support for young children and their families. The Family Support team serves families who have a child or adult family member with a developmental disability. Support is tailored to each family’s needs but may include case coordination, short and long-term planning, respite, advocacy and transition support. Family Support coordinates popular inclusive cooking programs, supported youth sports groups, parent support groups, the Youth Connections summer program and more.
